“Slow Build” is a single release from pianist/composer Matt Johnson. While originally created in 1989, this recording uses synth and keyboard orchestration and effects to explore the intensity created when an extended crescendo is used over a pulsing drone bass line. Lively and upbeat, this is really a fun piece to listen to (and play!) - a bit of musical sunshine!
As always, the single can be downloaded for free from Matt’s website.
It is also available from Amazon, iTunes/Apple Music and Spotify.
There is a free sheet music download of the solo piano version of “Slow Build” on www.MattJohnsonMusic.com. The sheet music was transcribed by the composer, is eight pages long and is in the key of B-flat (2 flats). Late-intermediate and early-advanced pianists shouldn’t have much trouble learning the piece as most of the rhythms are quite easy.
Matt offers his original music with no expectation of payment. The above audio files and musical scores are absolutely FREE for your personal use and enjoyment.
However, donations are always appreciated.
